Getting there

Bhubaneswar is in Odisha, on India’s east coast, and has its own airport — Biju Patnaik International, BBI — with connections through Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

There are no direct flights from the UK: fly to Delhi or Mumbai — British Airways and Air India both go from London — and it is a two-hour hop from there.

If the domestic leg is on a separate ticket, leave a generous gap between flights and expect to collect your bags and check in again.

Pro tip: It’s cheaper to book the flight to Bhubaneswar separately from Delhi/Mumbai!

If you’re travelling on a foreign passport, you will need a visa.

You apply for India’s e-Visa online. Allow an evening for the form, and start a few weeks ahead for peace of mind. Ask us if you get stuck.

The airport is in the city itself, about twenty minutes from the hotel.

Uber and Ola both work in Bhubaneswar, and there is a prepaid taxi counter in arrivals if you would rather not wait for one.
